The Cusp Of SpringSubmitted by andras on March 27, 2008 - 4:04pm.
Radio8Ballers and synchronicity surfers, I wish I could tell you all the details of the crazy shit that’s been happening to me this spring. Things are falling apart and reforming all over the place. Projects which seemed long dead are emerging like fertile buds in an ignored garden. Once indisposable relationships are winding up in the mulch bin and the wind keeps blowing beauty and inspiration into my life. It hurts like a bitch but not always in an entirely unpleasant way. The shows in March with Veda Hille and Dan Bern were really something special and my deepest grattitude goes out to everyone who contributed to these events, especially Dan and Veda who were both extremely generous with their time and talent. If you saw one of these shows and haven't bought one of their CDs yet don't wait. There is a reason you crossed paths with them and their music probably has something useful for you. In the political sphere things are certainly interesting. The ghosts of ’68 are everywhere to be found and as a child of that momentous year, with its raised hopes and shattered dreams, I feel personally invested in the outcome. Does Radio8Ball have a positive societal role to play as we ride the epochal shifts which are upon us? I think so. I know that my growing ability to find fortunate resonance in seemingly random occurences serves me very well especially when life's benign face isn't so obviously shining on me. It’s a skill which I have cultivated on Radio8Ball and my intention in sharing the pop oracle is that it will serve all who give it their attention in similarly positive ways. I’d say that Radio8Ball is of less societal importance than the sustainable farming movement or the politics of water but definitely of more evolutionary value than most of the passive entertainment formats which are available to us. Thank you to all of you who have and continue to support Radio8Ball with your attention and intention. I’m especially glad that some of you have started to use the comment sections on our website. I really like hearing what you have to say about the musical divinations. We’ve got some great events and broadcasts planned for the coming months (see the Upcoming Performances menu to the right.) I look forward to meeting and sharing divinations with you. Presently yours, Andras Jones |
