“Intimacy is the new punk rock” – Bono

“Synchronicity is sexy” – Andras Jones

For the season finale of The Radio8Ball Show at Theater Off Jackson we wanted to do something special. We looked at our calendar and noticed that on June 20th we would be sharing our neighborhood with this big band from Ireland. You may have heard of them. They are called U2. The decision was made to follow this synchronistic cue and present a U2-themed Pop Oracle show with Flora McGill and Electron Love Theory performing songs from their “Standing In The Shadows of U2” CD which is an electronica project featuring an array of great female vocalists, and try and get someone from U2 to Skype-In and ask a question. Of course, as soon as the booking was official the news reported that U2 frontman Bono had suffered a back injury which recquired the band to postpone their tour.

So, now we are the only U2 action in town that night.

This final show of our spring season at TOJ will also feature Skype-Ins from natural time visionary Eden Sky (http://13moon.com/) and synchronistic musicologist Ezra Sandzer-Bell (http://tonecoloralchemy.com/) as well as the usual prizes from Scarecrow Videos and your questions.

And now that U2 won’t be as busy that night we are REALLY hoping that we can get someone from the band to Skype-In and ask a question. Previous Skype-In guests this season have included Calvin Johnson, Andy Dick, Rae Dawn Chong, Seth Green, Nina Hartley, John C. Reilly, Weird Al Yankovic, C. Thomas Howell and Anthony Rapp.

In other R8B news, on June 18th we will be presenting a very special Radio8Ball on Elm Street at Crypticon 2010 featuring a Celebrity Skype-In from Robert Englund and live appearances from Nightmare on Elm Street alums Heather Langenkamp (NOES 1&3,) Amanda Wyss (NOES 1,) Brooke Bundy (NOES 3&4,) Rodney Eastman (NOES 3 &4) and host Andras Jones (NOES 4).

The Radio8Ball Show will return to Theater Off Jackson in the fall.
