Having transformed the airwaves and the live preformance medium, Radio8Ball:The Pop Oracle, is going televisual.

We will begin filming episodes of The Radio8Ball TV Show in February at The Columbia City Theater in Seattle, Washington.

Our musical guest for this innaugural episode will be Ian Moore. Many of you saw Ian’s performance at The Radio8Ball Show live at CHAC in Seattle last year (the show is up on the podcasts page) so you know what a profound and engaging cat he can be but I bet you didn’t know that he was born on August 8th. That’s the high holy day of Radio8Ball and a good omen for this, our first intrepid forray into the video realm.

R8B TV is going to be a lot like the stage show that we all know and love but more advanced. For one thing, I will be joined for each episode by a different celebrity co-host who will ask the first question of the show and assist me with the musical divinations. My celeb co-host on the first episode will be comedian Tig Notaro (The Sarah Silverman Program.)

There are some significant advances in the modes of divination we will be using. We will still be using a wheel to answer one question (The Wheel of Eight) and will also be picking songs at random using Radio8Cards, Dice, Coins, as well as interactive games and The Goldberg Pyramid (which has to be seen to be believed.)

The Columbia City Theater is an old vaudeville house in South Seattle which has been entirely refurbished as a state of the art recording and video facility with real old school charm. Rumor has it that Jimi Hendrix, who grew up in the neighborhood, played on the stage, and that Bruce Lee used to give karate demonstrations at the theater. That’s a lot of mojo, and for a show like ours, mojo is everything. We are ecstatic to be presenting The Pop Oracle in it’s cozy yet high-tech confines.
