From ANDRAS JONES: STEVE SMITH (of Dirty Vegas, Squeeze, The English Beat) joined us as the musical guest on a dark day in American history. While we engaged the Pop Oracle at The Record Co. in Boston, Massachusetts, several hundred miles to the south Dr. Christine Blasey Ford and Brett Kavanaugh testified before congress. This terrible spectacle informed my question and one more, later in the show. We may still be too close to the trauma of this day to want to spend 8 musical divinations micro focusing on it, and I get that. I also trust this format to such a degree that I can absolutely promise you this is a document of that day and, when we have a better sense of the full context and impact of it, we will marvel at how much was revealed here.
