From ANDRAS JONES: As we come to the close of our Pop Oracle sessions with CAROLINE KEYS and GIBSON HARTWELL something rich and wonderful is happening in Missoula. In a perfectly timed hand-off of featured R8B artists Caroline has just announced the formation of a new band JUNIOR with next week’s Radio8Ball guest HERMINA JEAN and their fellow Missoulian JENNY LYNN. I just heard that they are currently booking a west coast tour in June and I for one will be doing whatever I can to support this endeavor. With Hermina singing, playing guitar and drums all at once in the video I’m thinking they might be a nice fit with one of our favorite LA bands FEISTY HEART. I’m really looking forward to the yin/yang blend that this collaboration between Caroline and Hermina promises. With Caroline’s songs of aching optimism and Hermina’s songs (which you will come to know next week) of unflinching intensity I’m sensing a Lennon/McCartney-esque balance that results in something that is far greater than the sum of its parts. Not that Radio8Ball can take any credit for this collaboration, but it did happen in sync with our sessions so we can’t help but feel like a part of the excitement and look forward to where they take it.
