From ANDRAS JONES: We met VIKRAM DEVASTHALI when he was playing trombone for ALEX LILLY. Now the floor is his and he invited his co-writer ROSS GARREN and muse-like guitar man JOHN SCHROEDER to join him in playing our oracle fodder. Their friends and collaborators led us on an exploration of good boundaries, the male gaze and the next sexual revolution with digressions into Yacht Rock, Jenny Lewis and The Bird & The Bee. This is a good one.
From VIKRAM DEVASTHALI: That the opening song requested by the Pop Oracle should be the first one we officially released as a team is a tribute to the power of synchronicity. “A Good Enough Romance” – from our debut EP, Losing Her – might be the track most frequently cited by our friends as their favorite, and features John Schroeder’s sparkling guitar work. Lyrically, it continues a line of thought that began with an unreleased song from my early writing days – “Mr. Good Enough” – which contains the following barbs about a romantic rival: “He’s pretty fly (!) on Friday night / but pretty flighty at morning light / his pretty eyes will make you sigh / his pretty lies will make you cry.”
