From ANDRAS JONES: And so we come to the end of this Pop Oracle session with INARA GEORGE, closing with a song invoking The Fool which, as the first card in the tarot, represents beginnings. Considering that Inara’s question explores the potential of an after life I can imagine that this might be a little disorienting to those who have trouble with contradictions. Are we talking about the end or about beginnings? The wise seeker will recognize that there is no difference. Every end is a beginning and vice versa. For example, even though this show ended around 8pm on November 6th, 2017, that was really just another beginning. As I stated in the first installment of this episode, we were bumped at the last minute from our usual studio at Starburns Industries to the stage at Starburns Castle for this session and, among the technical hurdles this placed before us was the realization that instead of the nice multi track session we usually leave the studio with, for this show all we got was a stereo mix like you’d get from a board tape at a live show. We did our best to make it work but in the end, the music wasn’t up to Inara’s exacting standards and she re-recorded all of her songs in her home studio on November 29th at approximately 1pm (pst). These are the versions you will hear on this show but it may please you to know that an alternative performance of all of these songs exist though honor dictates I will not be making them available. As with Inara’s question and the musical answer it receives, once again we find ourselves nestled in a paradox. Does knowing that Inara re-recorded her songs make you question the synchronicity of the experience? Does knowing that an alternative version of the experience exists make it richer for you? Or does it cheapen it? These are the kind of questions you might ask The Pop Oracle. They are, of course, unanswerable but that shouldn’t stop you from seeking your own answers to them. It’s fool’s work, and that’s nice work if you can get it.
