From ANDRAS JONES: I met Jen and her partner Dawn Humphreys from “Women In Caskets” at one of the many horror conventions I attend with my Nightmare family and was immediately charmed by them. But when I heard their podcast about Nightmare 4 I fell head over heels in art-love. Jen Brown’s passion for the genre and Women In Casket’s subversive feminist take on it was a welcome respite from the mostly male (and often sadly macho) podcasters and interviewers that dominate the field. Nothing against the dudes but Jen & Dawn’s podcast didn’t just stick out because they’re women. It stuck out because it was really smart. I’ll leave it to others to determine if there is a correlation there.
