Rae Spoon
From ANDRAS JONES: For this dip into the Radio8Vault we throttle back to June 14, 2005 when the whole live musical guest aspect of the show was new to us and I still had a lot to learn. For years we were engaging The Pop Oracle, answering questions from callers by playing randomly chosen CD’s on shuffle function. RAE SPOON was actually part of a pretty packed night of performers that night and I hadn’t listened to these musical divinations for many years until recently.
I’ve been discussing collaborating on some kind of Canadian Pop Oracle sessions with Rae (who is currently on tour in Norway with Geoff Berner) and their label COAX Records. Everything was coming up Raes and Spoons for me that week, which inspired me go back and check out these sessions. My own reading is really fairly chilling, considering all that has happened to me in Olympia since, and I love getting to feature a call from one of our regulars.
