From ANDRAS JONES: Omnivore Recording artist JEFFREY GAINES joined us for this Pop Oracle session on February 14th at Starburns Industries. Jeffrey and I were meeting for the first time. He was unfamiliar with our format. I was unfamiliar with his music. All either of us really knew about the other was that we both worked with Chris Price. Price produced Gaines’s new record, and was a recent guest on our show. The session spooled out much as one might expect a blind date to. Uncomfortable pauses and awkward moments slowly giving way to looks of recognition and smiles of agreement. Over the course of the episode we took questions from Chris Price, Ronnie Barnett (of The Muffs), David Jenkins (of the Wild Honey Foundation), Morty Coyle (of All Day Sucker), Cindy Lee Berryhill and Brendan Lynch-Salamon. My question was about getting stood up for a highly anticipated non-date with a friend and what good thing might await me at the Wild Honey Buffalo tribute. You’ll have to follow along to see how it all played out but my answer was pretty perfect.
